Original background storyEdit

Cats are supposed to have nine lives, but a Crash Dummy cat has a whole lot more. The trouble is, Hubcat isn't enjoying any of them. Hubcat wasn't cut out to be a Crash Dummy. The job makes him nervous. Whenever it's time for a crash test he can't be found.

Bumper tries to act like a regular dog. He likes to ride in the car with his head out of the window. But let's face it, it's just not the same when you're on a short trip to a brick wall. Still, he does his best to be a Crash Dummy's best friend. It's a dumb job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Hubcat & Bumper were part of the original Crash Dummies. Unlike all other figures, they came as a pair. They stayed on when Vince and Larry were replaced with Slick and Spin. But with the Pro-Tek series in 1992, they disappeared. Their unique ability to flatten was impractical since pressure had to be applied from above, while all vehicles applied pressure from a side.
